1. CONFERENCE PROGRAMME (more details can be found in the attached Flyer/Brochure)
First Conference Day
Invited speakers on the first conference day are well known researchers and contributors in the field of migration, ethnic relations, inteculturality and education. Lydia Potts (political scientist), Knut Kjeldstadli (historian), Thor Olav Engen, (pedagogue). These European specialists will present challenges from a European perspective, from a Norwegian perspective, and from the perspective of the dedicated teacher and researcher. The first day wil be closed with a drama presentation carrying the voice of the migrant.
Second Conference Day
Action plans dedicated to helping schools and teachers meeting the challenges mentioned will be presented in several shorter interventions by representatives of public authorities (national and local), and government supported initiatives. Best practice in schools will be discussed with the help of partners and members of the LearningMigration Comenius 3 Network.
Language: All presentations in English.

Participant Fee is 360 (90 a day): arrival Wednesday April 26 departure Sunday April 30)
This is inclusive of hotel accommodation (4 nights in double rooms), reception Wednesday evening, coffee/lunch/dinner on Thursday, coffee/lunch on Friday and conference material.
Special offer: Partners of the LearningMigration Comenius 3 Network will pay 200 (50 a day). Members will pay 260 (65 a day).

Accommodation will primarily be at Maritime Thon Hotel in the centre of Stavanger. Extra cost for a single room: 30 per night.

4. TRAVEL AND CONFERENCE VENUE
The conference will take place in Stavanger, Norway from April 26-29, 2005. The conference venue will be the University of Stavanger. The conference hotel is within 10 minutes walking distance from the bus station with services to both the University of Stavanger and Stavanger Airport.
Participants of the Contact Seminar starting on Tuesday, 25. April at 3 p.m. can arrive on the same day. Reception on Tuesday evening at 8 p.m.
Participants of other Pre-conference activities starting at 3 p.m. on Wednesday 26 April can arrive on the same day.
Other participants should be in Stavanger in time for the reception on Wednesday evening 26 April at 8 p.m.
The official conference closes on Friday 28 April at 1500. However, partners and members of the LearningMigration Network will have activities after that and are encouraged to arrange their departure late on Saturday 29 April or on Sunday 30 April.
