Additional information:
1) Name and type of institution:
Spolecnost Rozmberk, o.p.s. or Rozmberk Society p.b.c. in English; p.b.c. means public benefit corporation or simply a not-for profit registered tax-exampt charity
2: size of institution:
In 2002 and 2003 we had on average 3 people working full-time, 1 civil servant (alternative military serve) and 1-2 persons par time. Occasional also working with volunteers.
Two persons are involved in the migration network; Robert Dulfer and Olga Cerna.
3: expertise:
Historical migration is part of our permanent exhibitions in the Kojakovice Peasant Museum and Information Center. There is cooperation between the Center and local and regional schools on this theme. The Society also facilitates the Sister City Partnership between the municipality of Jilovice (to which Kojakovice belongs) and the town of Oxford Junction, USA, a small town with many descendants from Czech migrants. The activities also involve local schools in both municipalities.
At this moment, activities concentrate on further investigating the historic migration and make this part of the recognised regional heritage. Current day problematic of migrants is a topic that should be introduced in the local schools and further developed as part of the proposed migration project.
Our Society has a website mentioning the historic migration (www.rozmberk.org) and we are now in the process of helping the rural schools to set up websites and connecting school children in our region and the USA through internet. This should also be extended through new contacts in the migration project.
4: experience in cooperation .
Explained extensively under nr. 3
5: experience .
Robert Dulfer attended the course in Lisbon about migration, last October. For the rest, we do not have experience in Comenius projects. However, we were involved in a youth exchange project and have just submitted a proposal for a second youth project in Trebon. These projects are not related.
